We wear the patch because of what it represents. It
speaks of a covenant that “The Band of Brothers” enters into not only
with our God but also with each other.
It is a symbol rich with meaning and purpose. When a
man and woman are married they exchange wedding rings. These rings are
a symbol of their love and commitment to each other for all to see.
The Marine Corp has a symbol that comes in the form of
some Latin words. This symbol, which aids in all Marines being bound
together, is the phrase “Semper Fidelis which means “Always
Faithful.”
Many Christians wear a cross around their neck; it’s a
symbol that points to the Son of God and all that He has done to win
our freedom.
So for “The Band of Brothers” the patch Symbolizes,
represents and speaks of: Being united in our commitment to Christ,
united in our commitment to each other.
United in a bond of love for our God, united in a bond
of love for each other. United in battle as Brothers in Arms,
fighting for the heart of our King, our wives, children, families, and
fellow brothers.
Committed to a shared mission, accountability,
committed to each other as friends and allies.
Galatians 5:13 (Msg)
It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a
free life. Just make sure that you don't use this freedom as an excuse
to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use
your freedom to serve one another in love; that's how freedom grows.
